THE GRASS IS GREEN ON MY END

Good evening everyone! I would whine about being crazy busy but that would just be dishonest cause i'm having a blast! Fashion is my zen zone,  so to be able to wake up to that everyday and then come home to my blog is pretty perfect. Today was very much about juggling my responsibilities at work and being a fashion blogger. Now it may not always be the easiest thing but there's such a sense of satisfaction when you get the balance just right. I had to take time out to get a pass to attend the Lagos Fashion and Design Week which begins tomorrow,  and I'm so glad I was able to get that done. So the next time you hear from me, it'll be from the Lagos Fashion and Design Week space.

DEOLA SS15 : A MIDSUMMERS NIGHT DREAM

DEOLA  formerly known as Deola Sagoe, is an eponymous Nigerian fashion label, created  by Nigerian designer and sartorial icon,  Deola Sagoe. The brand debuted it's SS15 collection titled " A Midsummers Night Dream"  at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week  in September. The designer credits colourful and vibrant winged creatures as the source of inspiration, for her SS15 collection . The Midsummers Night dream  collection is the embodiment of her South meets West approach to design. The printed fabrics called Aso oke are traditional hand woven fabrics of the Yoruba people of Nigeria. She masterfully takes decades of African tradition embedded in fabrics, and blends it with the oh so familiar Western cuts and silhouettes. Borrowing from a western fairly tale concept, she seamlessly ties it in with with the ever present African flare, often expressed in the ostentatious and unapologetic use of colour.

MAKE UP SESSION : BM PRO

I had imagined that I'd take 3 weeks off  to just slum it and kick back but that hasn't exactly been the case, and I'm super grateful for that. It's been straight to work since my second week back and I've had some pretty cool experiences so far. One of such experiences was getting a make over by BM PRO, a make up company owned by international make up artist, Banke Meshida Lawal. I got to work with  BM PRO, while I was standing in, for the Creative Director of the fashion house I work for, in an Ebony Life Tv SS15 runway production. The production  was a segment of the network's fashion focus production and it was as much fun as it was hard work. I had a blast with the make-up experience and I loved the  process almost as much as I did the end result. My hair was by Motions Hair and it was an all round great experience.

I'll be sharing some pictures from the production sometime next month on the blog. Enjoy the rest of your week!

GWEL AN MOR RESORT : CABIN FEVER

The  Gwelan Mor resort is a 5 star luxury resort in Cornwall, that a couple of friends and I, had the pleasure of visiting towards the end of summer.  We spent the weekend in a 3 bedroom lodge that slept six and the lodge, was incredibly beautiful in it's simplicity. The decorative style of the interior, was more homely than anything else, with lime and red floral print curtains that gave the cabin such a bright and domestic feel. The cabin was cozy yet spacious with lighting perfectly suited to the warm colour of the knotty pine wood, complemented by the equally warm hue of the Sofa.  I felt like I just moved into my dream cabin home.
