THE LAGOON WITH FRIENDS

Good Morning guys. Ringing in one of the first few days of the New Year with friends was such a lovely way to kick off this year. My friends and their friends, some of whom overtime have become friends of mine and their friends (Lool! stay with me),  decided to catch up in the New Year over an early dinner at the Lagoon Restaurant with a view of, of course the Lagoon.

 It was a lovely day and we had such a great time! I got to meet a number of lovely new people and  of course, catch up with a lot of my Oldies, some of whom you've seen more than a couple times on the blog over the years. 

 I had what was undoubtedly, the largest and most awkward shaped steak i've ever had with mushroom sauce and it was pretty amazing. Pretty much everyone at the table had a chalice (not glass) of Chapman which is everyone's go to Nigerian cocktail. It really is just like a thing!

THE CAMEL COAT

 Good evening everyone!  Camel coats have been everywhere this season but I tend to wait out reporting every major trend because most trends quickly turn into fads. The camel coat however is no fad. One of the great thing about camel coats is that season after season it will keep making a comeback ; it's neutral colour and agreeable tone will see it outlive the trend phase and transition into a staple piece, easy to style and easy to work.

BIRTHDAY MEMOIRS (GENTS ONLY)

Good evening everyone! It's been such a hectic start to the year and with fashion season coming up in February and all, I haven't had time this past week to blog. However here I am heart in hand, (and laptop in lap) making up for our time apart by sharing  a few shots from one of my favourite evenings from December; my Birthday Dinner. Unfortunately, only the shots with these two handsome fellas were half decent. So I guess this makes this a boys only showcase! Here's wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead.

OUTDOOR SPACES AND CABANNAS

 It's been far to long since I've blogged about home decor and one of my decor obsessions more recently at the forefront of my mind, are outdoor spaces.

One of my favourite things about being from a country where it's almost summer all year round are, the endless possibilities for creating nice outdoor spaces,
 if you have the room, disposition or if you just like that kinda stuff. Some of the most amazing outdoor spaces and cabannas I see here in Lagos are usually at Restaurants, bars and hotels and they do nothing to abate this obsession.

 Outdoor spaces along with chandeliersare two of many things, that make me look forward to one day owning a place of my own to do whatever the heck I please with but in the meantime;  let's admire home owners with really fine taste in decor.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! (2014 IN REVIEW)

From Sapphire Brushstrokes to you all, here's wishing you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year! As we begin a New Year, and I  chart my course for 2015, I would like to begin by looking back on some of my favorite style moments from 2014 because I find that you never really appreciate how far you've come, until you get a chance to look back on the journey getting there.
