OVERSIZE COATS

After fashion week we all go through a mental or written list of some of the biggest fashion trends of the season but I find, I'm more interested in those trends when the time for their dominance presents itself. Oversize-coats are undoubtedly one of Fall/winter 2013's biggest trends and now that winter is knocking, it's going to be raining Big coats. I'm excited to see a lot of the different ways, in which people will wear them and hopefully, document some of my favorite looks, to share with you. If you are a fan, of the oversize coat trend and you haven't already gotten one, you now know what fall Item your closet's missing. As you shop, feel free to experiment with colors, shapes, prints and textures, Pink, Navy, tartan, leather, multicolored prints and two-toned coats are all great ways to go! AT SUNSET

Hi there!Just got back from dinner with my girlfriends at some new Thai restaurant in town we tried out and the meal was decent but very filling. I was of half a mind to run straight to bed but I decided it was time to get this post out. This shoot was done on Sunday halfway through a girls day out that was all about shopping for leather jackets, scheming through flannels, admiring the Christmas decor and catching up over Ed shake's milkshakes. As some of you may know, I tend to dress it up a bit to church even-though most people at my church, dress quite casually. It really is just a cultural Nigerian thing I can't seem to shake off. I paired these asos floral jacquard pants with this white mesh top which I absolutely adore and taking advantage of the sun (which is pretty much a rarity this time of year) I broke out my summer companion my Micheal Kors sunnies and I was good to go, spending my morning in church and the rest of my day out and about town with my girls.

BEAUX -ARTS AND FASHION

It's incredible how inspiration for fashion can be derived from any art form or aspect of our physical world . One of my favorite sources of inspiration for fashion has long been architecture. Beaux-Arts architecture is one of my preferred styles of architecture and interior design. Rising to prominence in the 18th century, Beaux-arts is characterized my incredible attention to detail and intricacies. It's flawless infusion of sculptures into architecture, largely represented by the presence of Greek gods and goddesses is a marker of this style of architecture. Drawing on the Italian Renaissance, French and Italian baroque and rococo and most prominently Greek architecture, Beaux-Arts exudes an elegance,grandeur and incredible attention to detail, all of which are strong elements to inspire fashion, design and style.
