2014 MET BALL (CHARLES JAMES THEME)

Good evening everyone. Here are some of my favorite looks and a couple other impressionable looks from the 2014 MET BALL that took place yesterday evening. The theme of the ball was late 1940's-1950's (post-war) High society and was decidedly more formal than last year's punk themed ball. The theme was both inspired by and in honor of acclaimed  post-war couturier Charles James and it was truly lovely going through this bevy of beautiful dresses and I just can't get enough. With the exception of a couple stars, I think the dress code was very well adhered to, what do you think? and let me know your best dressed in the comments sections. DONT BLEND, JUST MIX

Good evening everyone! I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend. I just wanted to share the pictures from a recent shoot in which I styled this lovely midi skirt I got from Asos. When working with colors, the instinctual thing to do is to pair colors that blend but I wasn't really interested in doing that with this skirt! I opted for a top that didn't blend in  but stood out in it's own right and I loved it. The best thing sometimes about mixing colors that don't blend is that it creates a very varied and busy color palette that draws you in and that was precisely my intention when I was pulling this look together.
